Review:

Naga Chaitanya makes her digital debut in the supernatural thriller web series Dhootha, the Messenger. With Parvathy Thiruvothu, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Prachi Desai, it was written and directed by Vikram Kumar and offers a unique take on the Indian supernatural-horror genre. It successfully removes layers to uncover the complex network tying politicians, law enforcement, and media together.

The story revolves around mysterious newspaper clippings that cause chaos in the lives of Sagar, his family, and close friends. The plot, which deviates from traditional horror clichés, is distinguished by its captivating idea and lack of typical horror tropes. Even with its sporadic predictability, the show manages to hold the attention of viewers.

Naga Chaitanya gives an excellent performance in his over-the-top debut, giving the protagonist complexity and nuance. Together with Priya Bhavani Shanker as Priya and Prachi Desai as Ankitha, Parvathy Thiruvothu plays an investigative police officer. Their strong performances add to the series’ overall appeal. Parvathy deserves special recognition for her powerful performance. Actors Pasupathy, Rohini, Tharun Bhaskar, Ravindra Vijay, Tanikella Bharani, Eeswari Rao, and Raja Goutham, among others, contribute to the story’s depth as it goes into the past. Anish Yohan Kuruvilla and Chaitanya Garikipati are among the supporting cast members who skillfully enhance the plot.

Dhootha’s dark and compelling plot keeps viewers interested even in the face of occasional predictability. Even while the show had some really great moments, its effect could have been increased with a tighter narrative and more tension. The production qualities are excellent, with excellent special effects and cinematography that successfully create a spooky atmosphere—a necessary element for a horror series.

conclusion:

To sum up, Dhootha is an interesting film to watch if you enjoy supernatural-horror. Despite its imperfections, the show is noteworthy for its original concept and excellent acting. It makes an interesting impression on the landscape of upcoming Telugu web series and points the genre in a positive direction.
